"I lost many competitions, failed in negotiations and in relationships. I don't want to be dissatisfied or disappointed again. How can I let my past experience stay in the past?" That was the issue of my client.
Sometimes the life goes another way that we expect. In that case we might make conclusions of a situation that hit us on a personal level. "I'm not enough to get this job. I don't deserve to win a competition / to be accepted to the university".
The polar conclusion might also be used: "Everything is bought / the life is unfair / the organizers are men who only want to make money on artists". It hits our Ego less but gives a very logical explanation of the failure.
The point is not to avoid potentially unpleasant moments of life but to perceive them differently.
It is possible to see every situation ( even in the past) as a key to self development if we shift our mindset. Each experience can be then implemented to our life in order to strengthen our personality.
