WHAT DOES A CLOSED SYSTEM HIDE?
Recently, my family and I went to the Berlin Philharmonic — an amazing place filled with concerts and music. For me, it also brings back wonderful memories of my own performances. The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra is a great example of teamwork and professionalism. Every musician there feels like part of a special, privileged world. It’s not just an orchestra; it’s a system that takes pride in being connected to high art. Everything they do is about aiming for perfection and bringing music to the world with a deeper purpose.

On one side, this orchestra is like a temple of art, where musicians live for music and improve every day, playing incredible pieces. But on the other side, it’s also a closed system — they only accept those who "understand" and meet their high standards. And here, as a systemic coach, I see an interesting things.

As someone who studies living systems — from people and families to organizations and even countries — I often see that closed systems have both benefits and challenges.
What challenges does a closed system have?

✅Silence about problems
In a privileged system, people often don’t talk about the difficulties. The problems musicians face are kept quiet because the image of perfection must be protected. This can lead to burnout, stress, a lack of self-confidence and support inside the group.

✅Hard to get in
How do you find your place in such a closed world? How do you become part of this musical circle? How do you even learn to understand this music? What do you need to do to get concerts, prepare for performances, improve as a professional?

At our Music Academy, we work to open up access to these "privileged" skills and knowledge. This is for both professional musicians and those who simply love music.
A system can’t survive without exchange.
We believe music should be a source of joy and inspiration for everyone. And musicians, like everyone else, should be able to talk openly about their challenges and fears. With the right support, they can go through these hard times and keep their passion for music alive.

By opening up to each other, we create a more human space, helping each other grow and succeed.
